Weekends With: Aimee Friedrichsen in Cleveland
Mar 05, 2025
A weekend of fresh air, neighborhood gatherings, and everyday creativity
For Aimee Friedrichsen, weekends are a blend of movement and stillness, time with family and friends, and small creative moments woven into the day. With four kids, there’s always something happening—practices, games, impromptu gatherings—but there’s also space for the quiet, intentional moments that make a house feel like home
Saturday: A Full Day & A Moment for Fresh Air
With four kids, Saturdays always come with a full schedule. Between basketball games and practices, there’s a steady hum of movement—shuffling from one place to the next, cheering from the sidelines, and embracing the season of life they’re in.
Saturday Night: Gathering with the Neighborhood
As the day winds down, Aimee welcomes friends into her home for neighborhood ladies’ night, a monthly tradition she looks forward to every time. Since moving in just over a year ago, she’s found a deep sense of community here. The house fills with conversation and laughter, stretching into the evening, a reminder of how special it is to be surrounded by good people.
Sunday: Maple Syrup & Creative Moments at Home
Sunday mornings bring a shift in pace. The family visits one of the Cleveland Metroparks to learn about the process of making maple syrup—a small seasonal tradition that makes the transition from winter to spring feel a little more meaningful.
Back at home, the day is filled with quiet moments of creativity. Aimee trims plants for propagation, arranges fresh flowers, bakes, and paints. Sometimes, little hands join in, and those moments feel even sweeter. These small acts, woven into the weekend, make the space feel even more like home.
A Weekend Well Spent
As the weekend winds down, the whole family piles in to watch a Cavs game together. It’s a simple tradition, but one that brings them all together before the start of another week.
For Aimee, weekends are about embracing the season, finding beauty in small rituals, and filling her home with the people and moments that matter most. Whether it’s gathering with neighbors, spending time outdoors, or slowing down for a creative project, her weekends are a reminder that home is more than a space—it’s the life lived within it.
